Faith is 8-1/2 years old. She will be 9 in a couple weeks. She is in 3rd grade now. Someone recently asked her what her favorite subject is in school & she said that it is math. She started riding horses again in September 2008. She wanted to start when we moved from NY to TX in December 2007, but we were just too busy & just forgot to find somewhere for her to ride for a while. We found a place not far from where we live. She is now learning Western riding instead of English, but she said she doesn't care as long as she gets to ride. We told her that she can always switch if she ever wants to & maybe she can do both if she wants to when she's a little older. We can't afford for her to do both now & also don't want her to get confused between the 2 styles at this point. She dearly loves to ride though.

Faith got a Nintendo DS for Christmas this past year. She enjoys playing games on it & also on her computer. She likes to read too. We gave her City of Ember for Christmas and we started reading it together, although we slacked off and need to start again. She amazes me with her ability to read. When I was her age, I hated reading. She loves it and can usually figure out hard words too. Faith has been on the honor roll at school this whole school year so far. This last time she brought home her report card, I went out & bought her some roses. She was surprised and didn't realize why I got them for her. She still has them on her desk even though they aren't alive anymore.

Faith is excited about getting a house also. One of the houses we looked at had a room that was decorated like a cowboy room. She said if we got that house, she'd want that to be her room. We didn't end up with that house, but she's still excited because she will eventually get to pick a color for her room and hang more things on the walls also.
